When I started working soon I realized that not everybody was like me, most people would loath the idea of running that extra mile, needed to get the job done, if not paid for it. I always had an hard time understanding this behaviour, because, the way I see things is that I am paid to get the job done, I am not paid to show to work and give 8 hours of my time every weekday.
Nowadays, when I lead people, this is my biggest point of conflict; I really have a hard time understanding and accepting this kind of behaviour from my co-workers. I even started wondering «Am I wrong? Is this the right behaviour? Should I be like them?»
Then I read this text: “A Message to Garcia”, by Elbert Hubbard, and understood that I was just delivering my messages to Garcia.
Are you delivering your messages to Garcia?
Have a wonderful day,
